Collaborations with singer/songwriter Emily Barker
Home is a double-barreled word. It conveys a notion of all that is already given – the sedimented lives of those who have gone before – but it also conveys a notion of what is chosen – the open horizons of a person’s life. (Michael Jackson, At Home in the World,1995)
A long-term collaboration with ward-winning Australian singer/songwriter, Emily Barker has resulted in a collection of short films and songs. Discussions on the meaning of ‘home’ have fueled conversations as we considered homelands, our European ancestry and questions related to ‘inherited loss’. We have performed live music/film together at events including Late at Tate Britain, King’s Place London, the Green Man Festival, etc.
